Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The leaders stressed on the need for de-escalation and restoration of peace in the region and agreed to remain in touch. During the call, the Prime Minister condemned, in the strongest terms, the drone attacks on the Nakhchivan exclave of Azerbaijan that targeted innocent civilians. President Aliyev thanked the Prime Minister for the telephone call and appreciated the sentiment of solidarity and support of the people of Pakistan at this challenging time.
